Was Deputy Minister of Justice (2009-2010) and High Commissioner for Peace (2018-2021), founder and director of the human rights institutes of the Javeriana University (1,995) and Sergio Arboleda University (2010), Currently coordinates the Center for Conflict Mediation and Social Dialogue, at Javeriana University in Bogotá, Colombia. Has extensive international experience, having worked as a researcher and professor at Georgetown University in Washington DC, where he participated in the design of the economic development and local governance component of Plan Colombia. He has extensive theoretical and practical training in conflict resolution. Has extensive experience in the public and private sector, in the academic world and in the field of professional consulting on social issues, conflict resolution and social development.
