About Mariano Machado

Mariano leads Verisk Maplecroft's research practice for the Southern Cone, providing in-depth analysis for Argentina, Brazil, and Chile, assessing a wide range of hemispheric trends, and delivering thought leadership on resource nationalism trends at a global scale.

Before joining Verisk Maplecroft, he served in the public sector for nearly fifteen years, carrying substantial experience in how public decision-makers think and interrelate with private stakeholders.

Machado holds an MPA from Harvard University and was recognised with the Littauer Award for Academic Excellence. An alumnus of the Fulbright Program, he is trained in global affairs (LSE, Peking University), political management (UDESA), policy assessment (UMass), conflict analysis (UNITAR), and forecasting techniques (UNDP, ECLAC, GJP).

Among other professional affiliations, he is a councillor of the Argentine Council for International Relations (CARI), and a fellow of Argentina's Political Action Network (RAP).
