About Lawrence Haddad
Dr Lawrence Haddad is the Executive Director of the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) since October 2016. In this capacity, since 2020 and up to the United Nations Food Systems Summit that took place on 23 September 2021, Dr Haddad chaired Action Track 1 to ensure access to safe and nutritious food for all. He is also the co-convener of the Standing Together for Nutrition and is instrumental in the recent launch of the I-CAN initiative at COP27. In 2018, Lawrence was awarded the World Food Prize for his efforts in bringing maternal and child nutrition to the forefront of the global food security agenda and thereby reducing childhood stunting.
