About John Pflueger

John Pflueger, Ph.D., is Dell's Principal Environmental Strategist. In this role, John is responsible for driving Dell's corporate strategies on issues around Environmental Sustainability – including energy, GHG emissions, sustainable materials / circular economy, water and the application of technology to environmental issues. Of particular interest are applications of IT to energy production and distribution, climate smart agriculture and the intersection between open data, transportation and sustainability.

Prior to this role, John was Dell's subject matter expert on data center energy efficiency and managed initiatives to help customers improve the productivity of their computer systems and facilities, also acting as The Green Grid’s Technical Committee Chairman from 2007 to 2011. Since graduating from MIT in 1991 with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, John has been in a number of roles including product definition, development and manufacturing, as well as corporate and social responsibility.
