About Joe Rowsell
Joe Rowsell is a director of regulatory affairs at TELUS Communications. He advises executive leadership on telecom policy, leads a portfolio of research projects in areas such as rural broadband, climate change, and telemedicine, and oversees operations, planning, and a team of legal and policy professionals. Previously, Joe was a project director at the Council of Canadian Academics where he led more than a dozen multi-year expert panel assessments, which received international media coverage and influenced federal and provincial economic, health, and environmental policy.
Joe is active in the local community, serving as a board director of Children’s Wish Foundation, Writers at Woody Point, and Oxfam. He has an M.Phil. in Economics from Oxford University and his research interests include behavioural economics, poverty, and artificial intelligence. Joe is a dedicated father to two young daughters.
