Dr. Portnoy is a cognitive scientist working to translate research-based practices in teaching and learning to improve the future of learning. A former public school teacher and college professor, Portnoy has spent nearly two decades working in preK–12, higher ed, and informal educational settings.
Drawing from a deep knowledge of cognition and instruction, Portnoy works with education change makers from teachers and policy makers to administrators and curriculum developers to create, designs, implements, and writes about authentic, measurable, and experiential learning to transform the nature of teaching and learning.
Portnoy currently serves as Associate Teaching Professor within Northeastern University’s Graduate School of Education, cofounder and chief learning officer at Killer Snails, and international consultant, facilitator, and author.
